Spinning Hearts

Sun Nov 2, 2008, 5:35 PM
Check it, i'm back almost a month since my last entry. Ive been at uni for a month now, and I'm pretty much loving the experience. The work is easy and very enjoyable, for now at least.
Last Wednesday I got my first tattoos, a long time coming, but I had wanted some swallows on my chest in rememberence of my Gran for quite some time, and so I got them.
I have found another artistic outlet for my inspiration, although unfortunately I can't say what it is yet, cause I have utilised it in my girlfriends birthday present, and JUST IN CASE she happens to read this, I wouldnt want the surprise to be ruined! Needless to say it is exciting :D
Also, I have a cold. Due I think to the fact that I went to a party last night and slept in a room that was primarily used for smoking, And even though I wasnt the only one too sleep there, I seem to have been the only one who woke up with completely blocked nostrils.

Thats pretty much all there is to say. Actually I'm sure it isn't, but honestly I can't really be bothered to write much, cause, despite the effort, i never really seem to get and pageviews, so its a bit of a lost cause really. I'm not getting big headed or anything but I know for a fact that my work is better than some of the crap you see floating around here, and yet they all seem to get ridiculous amounts of views etc. I have been here since May, uploaded 128 deviations so far (not including the ones that I am about to do) and I am still yet to reach 500. So please, please, if you like what you see (or even read here i guess) tell me? You know how nice it is to recieve feedback, whether good or constructively bad...

Still, good things come to those who wait, and I feel slightly ashamed to end this generally upbeat journal entry with a rant that makes me appear to be a sour, self depreciating teenager.

Here are a bunch of bullet points that sum up my activity in the last 2 months.

-Started Graphics and Photohraphy at De Montfort Uni
-Got a spanking new DSLR
-Aquired a beautiful old praktica manual SLR.
-My band made it through the first round of Orange Unsigned, so look out for us on TV.
-I moved out of home, and have made the transition from eating well to the Somerfield yellow diet quite well.
-Earlier today I caught my foreskin in my flies.

peace :]

Watermelon is good for the soul

2000trees was one of the most fun weekends of my life. The rain pretty much churned the whole place into a quagmire on the first day, leaving everyone without wellies or a disregard for the threat of trenchfoot to suffer, while the rest of us had awesome fun wading through the stuff.
The bands were amazing aswell, the best including The Ghost of a Thousand, who were subjected to the biggest downpour of the weekend, and took it in their stride, The King BLues, who were the reason Rikki and I applied, and they didn't disappoint, Art Brut, who closed with a stunning set which left the organisers chasing after Eddie Argos as he waded through the sea of people and mud. Other highlights were the amazing Future of the Left, Imperial Leisure, Hijack Oscar, These New Puritans, and of course, the daddy, Frank Turner.

There will be a SHITLOAD of pictures coming up in the next few days, of both bands and general festival life, and hopefully this will open doors to bigger and better things...
Peace
